Jennifer Good
Resident Faculty Fellow
Dr. Jennifer Good is a faculty member in the Department of Modern Languages & Cultures, teaching German language and German Studies courses and serving as Division Director for German & Russian. In the Office of Engaged Learning, Jennifer holds a residency in the office as Fulbright Program Advisor (FPA) and also contributes as co-instructor for the course Learning for the World, and as a mentor in the Baylor Engage Fellows and Provost’s Scholars programs.
Jennifer teaches all levels of German students in language and culture classes, German film and context courses and in capstone courses on topics such as Kafka, Immigration/Emigration Multi-cultural Germany, German Enlightenment to the Present, and the social and cultural history of East Germany. She also has served as Baylor in Germany director to Dresden and will travel with Baylor students this coming summer 2023. Jennifer is passionate about long-term travel/research/study for students and has mentored many successful Fulbright winners. She believes in the power of study abroad and language study to deepen appreciation and knowledge about the world and its people. The connections that come from learning the language of others make true hospitality possible.
Jennifer earned Bachelors of Arts degrees from University of Missouri-Columbia, in German & Honors Interdisciplinary Studies (Russian, Political Science, Humanities), an MA in German Language, Literature and Pedagogy from University of Iowa and a PhD in Germanic Language & Literatures from University of Massachusetts Amherst. When not reading, writing or teaching German, Jennifer and her family enjoy cooking, gardening, traveling, running, tennis, soccer and attending the theater.
