Courses
Each semester we offer a variety of courses through the Philanthropy and Public Service Program that emphasize civic learning and public service, focusing on issues such as poverty, advocacy, community development, gender, health, and law. Course offerings vary from semester, offering a variety of courses designed to enrich the intellectual, social, and moral lives of undergraduate students by inviting them to pair academic learning with service to the community and pursuit of the common good while developing an understanding of significant community concerns.
Additionally, we work with faculty across all disciplines to identify, recommend, and develop courses that focus on service, citizenship, and community engagement with the purpose of integrating Civic Engagement into other required courses.
The Office of Engaged learning invites proposals for undergraduate courses designed to integrate student’s civic identities and experiences with disciplinary perspectives.
