Propose a CE Course

Civic Engagement Goals: 

While CE classes vary in their approach, they should include the following components: 

1. Active, regular participation in civic and community Life 

2. Courses that intentionally engage students in learning related to service in the community

3. Courses that provide opportunities to interact with members of ideologically, economically, and culturally diverse communities and groups

4. Courses that encourage the distribution, translation, and application of knowledge for the public good. 

Proposed Courses Should: 

• Be open and accessible to students from all undergraduate schools 

• Consider how to incorporate transdisciplinary perspectives, viewing the community as a key holder of knowledge

• Are listed through Baylor departments and schools thus requiring approval from departments

• Are new or revised courses that meet the program goals

• Should allow students to connect service, citizenship, and community engagement with their academic interests, core requirements, and majors.
