Katie Walter
Executive Director, World Hunger Relief

MBA, Baylor University
Katie hails from the wide expanse of west Texas but has called Waco home for over a decade. Before Waco sucked her back in, she lived in Virginia and North Carolina learning regenerative, organic agricultural production, and animal husbandry. Returning to Texas with this knowledge, Katie co-founded an urban farming business in Fort Worth. During their heyday, Folklore Farms designed, installed, and maintained backyard vegetable gardens throughout the metroplex. Rooted in education, these gardens incorporated many no-till and permaculture practices and design elements that are still flourishing today.
Seeing the need for sound and creative business models for small-scale sustainable farmers, Katie completed her Masters in Business Administration at Baylor University while serving as the Director of Farm Operations at World Hunger Relief.
Katie is a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and its deep connection to community and care of Creation. She has a passion for all things outdoors and is quite partial to manual labor. As the days get longer, you will find her working on a never-ending home restoration with her husband.
