How to Study Away Well
While traditional classroom learning is essential to a transformational undergraduate education, learning beyond the classroom invites the opportunity to explore cultures, worldviews, and life experiences different from your own. Studying away from campus also offers opportunities to bridge your classroom learning to the world beyond it.
Study Away should NOT be study tourism or only for collecting new experiences to go on a resume. Rather, off-campus study provides an opportunity to prioritize reciprocity in relationships through cooperative cross-cultural participation in learning, service, and civil society efforts.
Many of Baylor's study abroad and internationally affiliated programs have civic engagement opportunities for students and pathways for direct engagement. All students who go abroad are highly encouraged to continue engaging, serving, and connecting beyond the classroom in and for their host comunities.
