“

The Baylor Philanthropy Lab is a rich partnership between Baylor University, our students, and our many community partners. Since its inception, there is no question: in lasting ways, we are all better for having worked together.

Learning

Students engage with the theory and practice of philanthropy—the nature of the social sector, what makes nonprofits effective, and how communities flourish.

Doing

Students conduct due diligence, evaluate grant proposals, host site visits, deliberate democratically, and award real dollars—a process that mirrors the work of professional foundations.

Becoming

The course asks students to reflect: Who am I becoming? The goal is not merely to award grants, but to form people who will be generous, thoughtful, and engaged citizens for life.
