In effort to foster fruitful, mutually enriching collaboration with our community partners, the Office of Engaged Learning is committed to the principles of Fair Trade Learning in all our partnerships. We believe that engaged learning activities can promote the wellbeing of the communities and organizations we serve while simultaneously contributing to our students' intellectual, moral, and civic formation.

We invite community organizations interested in partnering with Baylor faculty and staff in courses, research projects, and service opportunities to contact Molly Simpson, Assistant Director for Service. Whether you have specific needs or would like to brainstorm ideas, the Office of Engaged Learning is here to help you develop meaningful, durable partnerships. Fair Trade Learning is global educational partnership exchange that prioritizes reciprocity in relationships through cooperative, cross-cultural participation in learning, service, and civil society efforts. It foregrounds the goals of economic equity, equal partnership, mutual learning, cooperative and positive social change, transparency, and sustainability. Fair Trade Learning explicitly engages the global civil society role of educational exchange in fostering a more just, equitable, and sustainable world (Hartman, Morris Paris, & Blache-Cohen, 2013).
