Have an internship opportunity that aligns with your academic and professional goals, contributes to the common good, but isn’t funded by the host organization? The Office of Engaged Learning can help. Through our Propose Your Own internship option, students may apply for funding to offset costs associated with unpaid or underfunded internships.
Please note: the application window for Propose Your Own internships closed on March 1, 2026.
How to Apply
To qualify, you must first secure an internship that contributes in discernible ways to the public good.
Once you've secured the internship, please complete the Baylor Summer Fellows application on or before March 1, 2026.
Next, ask your internship host to email a letter of invitation/affiliation directly to Mark Richards. This letter must:
- Be on official organizational letterhead
- Come from the host’s official email account
- Confirm your role, responsibilities, internship dates, estimated hours per week, and any pay offered by the host institution
- Be emailed from your internship host directly to Mark_Richards@baylor.edu by March 15, 2026
- From there, the Office of Engaged Learning will review your application, consult with you, and offer a funding decision by the end of March.
For more information, please contact Mark Richards.
