I Hit Submit! Celebration
The Office of Engaged Learning recently held our I Hit Submit! event to celebrate Baylor's 69 total applicants for the Fulbright US Student Program for this most recent award cycle.
Baylor University is exceptionally proud of our Fulbright applicants. The Office of Engaged Learning (OEL), which houses Baylor's Fulbright US Student Program team, enjoyed celebrating our applicants for this most recent cycle at our I Hit Submit! event. Baylor had 69 total applicants for the Fulbright awards this year. These applicants have been working hard for a long time. We launch our application process at the beginning of February, so they have spent over 8 months developing their applications. As part of the enthusiastic celebrations, the I Hit Submit! event included the opportunity to write letters to members of Congress advocating that they continue funding the Fulbright and applicants signing an I Applied poster that we will hang permanently in the OEL office.
The Fulbright awards offers a chance of a lifetime to spend a year studying, researching, or teaching abroad while building mutual understanding between the US and 1 of over 140+ host countries. Finalists are notified in late January and those selected are notified later in the spring semester. Baylor's Fulbright team in the OEL offers comprehensive application support, including selecting which award to apply for, essay feedback, and overall application guidance.
Baylor students have enjoyed considerable success with the Fulbright in recent years. A record 24 Baylor students recently won Fulbright awards, for which Baylor was a top 10 producing institution in the nation. We are so proud to see them head out on opportunities ranging from study in the Netherlands, to research in South Korea, or teaching English in many countries across the globe like Colombia, Turkey, and Laos.
Great job, Fulbright applicants!
