OEL Offering Full Scholarships for Future Church Leadership “Belonging” Course
The Office of Engaged Learning is excited to offer ten scholarships to cover the full cost of the "Belonging" course, the first of four modules in the Future Church Leadership Certificate, an online Certificate developed by the Future Communities Lab. Through these scholarships, the OEL aims to expand access to students and community leaders eager to lead change in their communities.
The content of the Belonging course emerged from a community-based process involving sustained listening and engagement with students, nonprofit leaders, and pastors. Through this process came the realization that the challenges leaders face today are different from those that shaped previous generations: belonging is elusive, loneliness is rampant, and mental health and burnout are no longer peripheral concerns. The Future Church Leadership Certificate is designed to help leaders address these challenges, and the Belonging course will equip participants to develop a toolkit to promote belonging for themselves and their community.
The Certificate is open to students, staff, church leaders, and community partners, and this scholarship initiative is aimed specifically at undergraduate students and nonprofit leaders who want to deepen their leadership experience in forming communities of belonging through engaged learning.
Students selected for the scholarship will receive full funding for the Belonging course. Scholarship enrollment will be rolling, with applications closing on May 1, 2026. To apply for the Belonging course scholarship, complete this form.
