Daniel Benyousky
Director of Major Fellowships and Awards
As Director of Major Fellowships and Awards at Baylor University, I direct a program that mentors students as they apply for awards like the Fulbright Scholarship, the Marshall Scholarship, the Rhodes Scholarship, and the Boren Scholarship. I work with students and alumni across disciplines on all aspects of their applications, whether informing them of award opportunities through outreach efforts, offering feedback on essay drafts, or establishing a timeline for application submission.
I also help lead the Ampersand Society, which is a community of high-achieving undergraduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences that ardent-heartedly seek to maximize their education.
I previously taught in the English department at Baylor, where my specialties were 20th- and 21st-century British poetry and drama, as well as Anglophone and Caribbean literature. Before that, I worked as a mental health therapist. I enjoy writing poetry, love the ocean and Los Angeles, ride a vintage motorcycle, and am always chasing that next Texas sunset.
