For many years, URSA Scholars Week has been held during the first week of April as a campus‑wide celebration of undergraduate research across all disciplines. This long‑standing tradition has highlighted the creativity, dedication, and scholarly achievements of Baylor’s undergraduate researchers and faculty mentors.
At the same time, other groups across campus have been cultivating strong research-centered events of their own. For several years we have envisioned bringing these efforts together—uniting diverse disciplines, academic levels, and scholarly communities. This year, we are excited to announce that this dream is becoming a reality.
URSA Scholars Week is combining with the Graduate Student Association and CEGSS to host an interdisciplinary research symposium—The Baylor Engagement and Research (BEAR) Symposium. This collaborative event will bring together:
- Undergraduate researchers
- Graduate students
- Faculty mentors and post-doctoral researchers
- Departments and research organizations from across the university
By merging these long-standing traditions, we are taking a major step toward creating a research culture that is more visible, more connected, and more vibrant.
