- Associate Professor of Accounting at Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business
Jason MacGregor is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business, where he teaches auditing and studies how judgment and accountability shape professional decision-making. His work sits at the intersection of technical competence and moral responsibility—the belief that how we do the work matters as much as whether we get the answer right.
In 2025, he became Director of Baylor’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program and prioritized expanding its reach in response to a clear local problem: millions of dollars in legally owed tax refunds were going unclaimed each year by Waco residents. Under his leadership, the program focuses on meeting that need head-on by mobilizing Baylor students to use their professional training to help families access critical resources, while gaining firsthand experience advocating for those who would otherwise be left out of the system.
