Apply to be a Provost's Scholar
Each Spring, students from all disciplines across the university are invited to apply to the Provost's Scholars program.
Students who become Provost's Scholars have excelled in their scholarship, citizenship, and leadership pursuits during their time at Baylor, have clearly oriented their education and life toward the common good, and are poised to continue doing so in their post-graduate endeavors. They are students with a deep concern for and demonstrated commitment to the flourishing of all people, all communities, and society at large, who are committed to further developing a community of like-minded and like-hearted students at Baylor.
Through a highly selective process, students who become Provost's Scholars have the opportunity to help direct the future of Baylor. They guide and mentor younger students. They build and foster a community of students working together across disciplines to promote human flourishing. And they work with university leadership to shape the future of the institution so that more students, faculty, and staff can participate in the work of engaged learning for the common good.
Provost's Scholars also receive tailored mentorship, support, and guidance from faculty and staff as they prepare to chart their path beyond Baylor and pursue all manner of exciting post-graduate opportunities.
Leadership opportunities for Provost's Scholars include:
- Mentoring younger students seeking to integrate their scholarship, citizenship, and leadership as they pursue their academic and professional goals at and beyond Baylor
- Giving a public talk at an OEL Breakfast on a topic of their choosing related to scholarship, citizenship, or leadership
- Advising and strategizing with the Office of Engaged Learning team and the Provost on ways to promote an orientation toward the common good and human flourishing among fellow students and across the university
Applications for the 2025-26 cohort have now closed. Applications will reopen in the late spring of 2026.
