Tropical Medicine Summer Institute
Baylor College of Medicine's National School of Tropical Medicine is one of the first of its kind in North America devoted to the neglected diseases that disproportionately afflict "the bottom billion," the world's poorest people who live below the World Bank poverty level.
In coordination with Baylor University, the National School of Tropical Medicine offers the Summer Institute Program: Introduction to Tropical Medicine. The intensive three-week course, held in Houston, Texas familiarizes undergraduate students with the field of tropical medicine. Students should register for an Advanced Topic in Biology course, which will cost regular summer tuition. Please check with the Office of Prehealth Studies to inquire about scholarships.
The Office of Engaged Learning will support students with a $1500 stipend to go toward living expenses.
